Purple Ceratophysella are temperate, surface-active springtails known for their hardiness, steady reproduction, and distinctive darker pigmentation. When well-fed, they develop an adorably rounded, pudgy appearance and remain actively visible along the culture surface. Their deeper coloration gives them a more subtle, natural look compared to brighter morphs, making them an appealing option for keepers who prefer a less conspicuous cleanup crew.

Important Note on Purple Ceratophysella Cultures
Purple Ceratophysella cultures may naturally produce a small percentage of yellow individuals. Buyers should expect approximately 1–10% yellow springtails to appear within these cultures over time.
This is a normal genetic occurrence and not a sign of contamination or mixed cultures. Similar to how a black cat can produce orange kittens depending on the genes it carries, these springtails may express different color traits even within a stable line.
If the yellow individuals are not periodically removed, their numbers may gradually increase within the culture over time.
